Sex Crimes Against Children

If the victim of a sex crime is between the ages of 14 and 17, the accused will more than likely be charged with sexual assault of a child. If the victim is younger than 14, the accused will be likely be charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child. Sexual assault is a broad category that encompasses many indecent acts, including exposure or engaging in sexual contact.

Sex crime charges can also be brought for possession of child pornography. Having explicit photographs of minors stored on a computer or a portable device, such as a cell phone or music player, can be enough to bring charges. In addition, if those photographs have been sent to others, the accused many also be charged with distribution of child pornography.

False Allegations and Set ups

As a seasoned criminal defense lawyer, Tim W. Avery understands the impact that allegations or charges can have upon a person's reputation.
